CONSTRUCTION

David Powell has been named a senior construction manager at the community of Summerfield in Pasco County for the Tampa Division of U.S. Home. Powell was a project manager at KHS&H Contractors, Lakeland.

FINANCIAL

GunnAllen Financial, Tampa, announces these appointments: Declan O'Beirne, chief financial officer; and John Deeks, manager of corporate trading services. O'Beirne was chief financial officer of Sterne, Agee Capital Markets Inc., SAL Financial Inc. and CUSO Partners LLC, all in Birmingham, Ala.; and Deeks was a senior trader of corporate executive services at Raymond James Financial, St. Petersburg.

HOSPITALITY

Sam Baage has been named chief financial officer at the TradeWinds Island Resorts, St. Pete Beach. Baage was regional controller at the Americas for Raffles International Hotels and Resorts, Chicago.

McKibbon Hotel Management Inc., Tampa, announces these appointments: Karl Oates, director of operations support; Keir Johnson, revenue manager; and Karen McKinney, corporate communications manager. Oates was general manager of the Courtyard by Marriott in Chattanooga, Tenn.; Johnson was group housing coordinator at the Marriott Waterside Hotel, Tampa; and McKinney was marketing communications consultant at Sykes Enterprises Inc., Tampa.

LEGAL

The law firm of GrayRobinson, Tampa, announces that David G. Hanlon received the 2005 Herb Goldberg Award, given annually by the Trial Lawyers' Section of the Hillsborough County Bar Association to a lawyer with a long and distinguished legal career in the Tampa community; and Christine A. Donoghue has been elected to serve on the Hillsborough County Bar Association's Young Lawyer's Division board of directors. Hanlon is a counsel lawyer; and Donoghue is an associate and practices general civil litigation.

Eddie A. Suarez received the James Kynes Memorial "In the Trenches" Award from the Trial Lawyer's Section of the Hillsborough County Bar Association. The award is given annually to a lawyer who has distinguished himself by overall excellence of legal work with emphasis in trial practice. Suarez has a private practice in Tampa.

MANUFACTURERS

Michael E. Tomlinson has been elected president and chief executive of PowerLinx Inc., St. Petersburg. Tomlinson was executive vice president, sales, research and marketing.

NONPROFIT

Mark Williams has been named vice president of operations of Genesis Financial Management Inc., Tampa. Williams was a loan officer at Ameriquest Mortgage, Columbia, Md.

ORGANIZATIONS

Betty Tribble has been named Citizen of the Year by the Tampa Connection, a nonprofit leadership development organization. Tribble is an executive with the United Way of Tampa Bay.

The Florida West Coast Chapter of the Institute of Internal Auditors announces officers for 2005-06: Gary Jordan, president; Tammy L. Griffin, vice president of education; Robert McCall Jr., vice president of communication; Billy Weathers, secretary; and Jim Parker, treasurer. Brian Tossell has been named director of research and development for the Melting Pot Inc., Tampa. Tossell was a new restaurant concept development consultant in New Orleans.
