Osceola High School reunion is Aug. 5-6

SEMINOLE - The Osceola High School Class of 1994 11-year reunion will be held at 7:30 p.m. Aug. 5 at Jimmy Guana's, and 7:30 p.m. Aug. 6 at Cha Cha Coconuts. The reunion will offer an opportunity for those who attended Osceola High School to get together and catch up. The Seminole chamber of Commerce will cosponsor a free seminar, "Smart Women Finish Rich," at 6:15 p.m. Aug. 4 at the Chamber office, 8400 113th St. N. Edward Jones Investments offers the seminar, based on the bestselling book by David Bach. It will be presented by Paul Peterson. Refreshments will be served. Seating is limited. The Seminole Family Aquatic Center, 9100 113th St. N, is offering water aerobics Tuesdays and Thursdays at 10 a.m. The cost is $3 a class. For those interested in swimming a few laps for exercise or taking a dip on a hot day, center hours are: 7 to 10 a.m. Monday, Wednesday and Friday for lap and exercise, noon to 4 p.m. for open swim, and 5 to 8 p.m. for family swim. The Aquatic Center is also open from noon to 4 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday for open swim, 5 to 9 p.m. for family swim and on Saturdays from noon to 5 p.m. The center will host a Family Pool Party on Aug. 20. Seminole United Methodist Church, 5400 Seminole Blvd., is offering the Bible seminar "The Bible for all Seasons" at 7 p.m. on Wednesdays through Aug. 10. Nominations for the 2005 Caregiver Awards are due by Sunday. The top three category winners will be invited to an awards ceremony banquet hosted by Florida House Rep. Leslie Waters on Oct. 1 at the Seminole Recreation Center, 9100 113th St. N. Banquet tickets cost $20. Caregivers may be nominated in a variety of categories including activity person, certified nursing assistant, family member, guardian, health care administrator, nurse, physician, social worker, therapist and volunteer. Planning for the 2006 Pow Wow Festival will get under way next month. The 39th Annual Festival is scheduled for March 9 to 11, 2006. The volunteer planning committee will meet from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Aug. 3 in room 210 at the Seminole Recreation Center to organize volunteers for various committees including entertainment, special events, festival parade, public relations, sponsorships, host and hospitality, and volunteer coordination. Chapel on the Hill will present a free Evans Hall Bridal Event from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Aug. 3. The event will showcase Pinellas County's newest banquet facility, featuring an evening of shopping, browsing and tasting. Everything needed for planning a wedding will be on hand, including entertainment, fashions, photography and video. Hundreds of dollars in prizes and discounts will be awarded with door prizes every 20 minutes. Live entertainment, food sampling and an open cash bar will be available. Pinellas County Sunstar Emergency Medical Services will offer free three-hour CPR classes from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays on Aug. 20, Sept. 17, Oct. 15, Nov. 19 and Dec. 17.
