Woman accused of attacking boyfriend

DADE CITY - Deputies say a 37-year-old Dade City woman attacked her boyfriend Tuesday evening with a steak knife during a domestic dispute.

Melissa Lee Taylor, of 15615 14th St., was arrested Wednesday morning on a charge of aggravated domestic battery. Deputies said Taylor was arguing with her live-in boyfriend of eight years when she slashed his tires with a black-handled steak knife. Later, authorities say, she poked at his abdomen, causing a quarter-inch puncture wound.

According to a sheriff's report, Taylor admitted to deputies that she slashed her boyfriend's tires but added that she did not try to cut him with the knife. Sheriff's officials Thursday did not know whether the boyfriend required hospital treatment.

Taylor was in jail Thursday in lieu of $1,500 bail, jail staffers said.
