Seniors leagues are preparing for the fall grind.
At Seminole Lanes, the Karen Wornicki Senior Scratch League is gearing up for its 16th season. Dunedin Lanes is organizing its Striking Seniors, a new sanctioned league. Both leagues are for men 50-and-older.
The Wornicki USBC-sanctioned competition has 21 three-man squads and is looking for more.
The average age for the bowlers is 69.4, and the individual scoring average is 199.2. The teams score 592-605. Participants must have a verifiable average of 165 or higher for the Tuesday morning (9:30) competition.
The league has scheduled an organizational meeting for 9 a.m. on Aug. 30 at Seminole Lanes, and play begins Sept. 6. The Striking Seniors league rolls on Thursdays at 9 a.m. and has an organizational meeting set for Sept. 1.

MORE LEAGUE NEWS: Dunedin Lanes is beginning a new youth-adult league this fall.
With at least one adult and one youth per four-person team, the league will bowl on Sunday nights starting Sept. 11.
DID YOU KNOW? According to bowl.com, there is no scientific way to determine the odds of bowling a perfect game.
The unscientific method, however, involves the number of games rolled and sanctioned 300s produced in a season.
It is estimated that league competitors record an average of 100 games per season. With about four million sanctioned league members logging about 400 million games and more than 35,000 perfect performances, the odds are about one 300 for every 11,500 games.
Since women and youth players get far fewer 300s than men, their odds are much greater.
HIGH SCORERS: At Dunedin Lanes, Nick Moldovan bowled games of 289, 290 and 224 for an 803 series to lead all men.
Lisa Beck rolled a women's series high 676, and Roland Jung led all seniors with a 641 series.
At Twedts Lanes in Largo, the high women's performers were Sharon Mazarro (634), Lanie Weaver (607), Crystal Kelsey (538), Jill Graetz (535), Michelle Signarovitz (505), Kay McAleer (503), Tamie Mooney (500), Nina Dean (491) and Joan Terry (483).
For the men, it was Jim Clouser (761), Loy Proyer (760), Bob Hettinger (690), Tod Janssen (688), Daryl Slater (675), Rich Novo-meski (670), Joe Alore (660), Danny Bolton (659), Gysin Bardo (653), Jay Taylor (651) and Joe Bloink (642).
At Ten Pins Lanes in South Pasadena, Jimmy Oswain (770) topped the men. Following were Spanky Adam (721), Ken Cook (710), Don Vachon (706), Smokey Clark (685), Bill Henry (674), Randy Boyle (659), Pete Sahner (656) and Dave Yager (652).
Heading the women were Robin Hintz (624), B.J. Plank (623), Ester Motzne (583), Gillian Dean (563), Jen Layton (562), Jo Sahner (540), Deb Bailey (539), Dawn Gillingham (535), Chris Byrne (535) and Ann Martine Rinker (515).
Jack McMeekin (555), Dave O'Brien (546), Mike Bartile (543), Rich Heinl (525), Tom McKenzie (522), Dave DeLorenzo (516) and Jim Callus (516) led the senior men.
The Young American Bowling Alliance leaders were David Segler (657), Dan McLaughlin (619), Randall Klafter (588), Randy Yingling (551) and Jenn Powers (519).
