ST. PETERSBURG - Authorities are investigating the fatal shooting of a 29-year-old man early Wednesday, the city's 19th homicide of the year.

Police were called to 3451 5th Ave S about 2:33 a.m. where they found Antonio D. Mackeroy in the parking lot outside West Coast Glass. He had been shot several times, police said, and was later pronounced dead at Bayfront Medical Center.

Few clues had surfaced as of Wednesday afternoon, though police think there were numerous people around when the shooting happened.

Police ask anyone with information to call Detective Rusty Zitzelberg at (727) 893-4959 or the main department number (727) 893-7780.
