Rivals.com released updated national and state lists of the top football prospects Tuesday, and Jefferson offensive tackle Daron Rose is among the biggest movers and shakers.
The 6-foot-5, 310-pound Rose now ranks as the country's No. 30 prospect and is No. 4 in Florida, best among area seniors. In Rivals' June rankings, he was 13th in Florida, but not a member of the top 100.
"The talented offensive line prospect did not make the first edition of the Rivals 100 and that was an oversight that was corrected after further film evaluation and another personal observation," Rivals editor Jeremy Crabtree wrote on the site.
Rose is considering Duke, Florida, Florida State, Michigan, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Southern California and USF.
"He's game ready to go right now," Rivals analyst Jeremy Patterson said. "You don't find many guys who are seniors in high school like that."
Hillsborough quarterback Jarred Fayson, at No. 77, is Hillsborough County's other top 100 member.
