SEATTLE - Ray Allen listened to pitches from Cleveland, Atlanta, the Los Angeles Clippers and others.
In the end, the All-Star guard decided staying with the SuperSonics was the right choice.
"I wanted someone to say something to knock me off my feet. And I was very disappointed," Allen said Wednesday after signing a five-year contract extension. "This organization, I knew what it was all about."
Coming off the best season of his career, Allen's deal is worth as much as $85-million - $80-million in salary and as much as $5-million in incentives. He averaged a career-high 23.9 points last season, 10th in the league.
CLIPPERS: Free agent shooting guard Cuttino Mobley was signed to a five-year, $42-million deal, and guards Kerry Kittles and Rick Brunson were released. Mobley averaged 17.2 points, 3.5 rebounds and 2.8 assists in 66 games for Sacramento and Orlando last season.
HAWKS: Bucks center Zaza Pachulia signed a $16-million, four-year offer sheet with Atlanta. He is a restricted free agent, meaning Milwaukee has seven days to match the offer. Pachulia averaged 6.2 points and 5.1 rebounds as a backup last season.
MAGIC: Free agent point guard Keyon Dooling was signed. Terms weren't disclosed, but Dooling said late last month the sides reached a three-year agreement worth nearly $10-million. He couldn't immediately sign because the NBA's collective bargaining agreement wasn't yet finalized.
Dooling averaged 5.2 points and 1.8 assists in 16 minutes a game last season with the Heat, who used him solely as a reserve. He was particularly strong during the Heat's postseason run, averaging 7.3 points on nearly 50 percent shooting.
Orlando drafted him at No. 10 overall in 2000, then traded his rights to the Clippers.
RAPTORS: Spanish point guard Jose Calderon, who spent the previous six seasons in the Spanish pro leagues, was signed.
SUNS: Phoenix, which has lost one shooting guard this summer and is close to losing another, signed free agent Raja Bell to a five-year contract worth just under $24-million. Bell, the former Utah Jazz co-captain is a renowned defensive player whose scoring averages have increased dramatically with playing time. Last season, he set career highs in scoring (12.3), rebounds (3.2), assists (1.5), field-goal percentage (.454) and minutes (28.4).
TRAIL BLAZERS: Veteran guards Nick Van Exel and Derek Anderson were waived. Van Exel, a 12-year veteran, averaged 10.7 points and 4.3 assists and made 39 starts last season before going on the injured list March 12 with left knee pain. Anderson, an eight-year veteran, averaged 9.2 points last season but had a variety of injuries.
