PARKING LOT SALE: An insurance company's agents and customers are unloading their extra furniture and household items Saturday to benefit the Warrick Dunn Foundation's Homes for the Holidays program for single mothers and their children. SUZUKI VIOLIN: Parents who want to help their children learn violin can register with Music Showcase, where instructor Stephanie Guajardo will soon start fall sessions for children ages 3 and up in the Suzuki method. The style of instruction began in the 1950s, when violinist Shinichi Suzuki began teaching young children to play by ear, rather than by reading notes; and to listen, absorb and copy. An orientation session for parents starts at 10 a.m. Saturday at Music Showcase, 402 Oakfield Drive, Brandon. Classes run $90 for six weeks starting Aug. 13. Smaller-sized violins are available.
