By Times Staff Writer

BROOKSVILLE - A Hernando County Jail employee faces charges of sale and possession of drugs following three separate purchases by Hernando County sheriff's deputies.

Shanetra Lata McCollom, 31, was arrested Friday at a residence at 816 Twigg St. in Brooksville on charges that she sold crack cocaine to undercover officers on July 29, Monday and again on Friday. Following the third buy, a warrant was issued for McCollom. A search of her dwelling produced an undisclosed amount of drugs, paraphernalia and money, the Sheriff's Office said. It also said that none of the drugs were purchased inside the jail. McCollom, who is employed by Corrections Corporation of America, which operates the jail, was being held in lieu of $140,000 bail. Information about McCollom's job at the jail was not available Friday evening.
