A SNEAK PEEK AT LLEYTON AND BEC'S WEDDING ALBUM: In an image that so appropriately captures the celebration of life, love and celebrity that was the wedding of Lleyton Hewitt and Bec Cartwright, stars of tennis and soap opera, respectively, Cartwright tries to hide from photographers in the back of a limo after the July 21 ceremony in Sydney, Australia. Maybe she just wanted some privacy after months of a media-saturated courtship that included the couple selling stories about their engagement and pregnancy to an Australian women's magazine. And maybe she was trying to protect the deal the couple made to sell their wedding story to the same magazine. The deal could make the not-exactly-cash-strapped pair around $500,000, which would be twice what the wedding cost, the Australian Associated Press reported.
SPEAKING OF LIFE, LOVE, POVERTY AND AIDS IN AFRICA, AND GLOBAL WARMING: Sheryl Crow is calling her new album Wildflower, after a song she says was inspired by boyfriend Lance Armstrong, his three children and the state of the world. "The idea of the song is that no matter how chaotic it is, wildflowers will still spring up in the middle of nowhere," she said in what was being touted as an exclusive by that noted music publication, Cycling News. The album is due out Sept. 27.
GIVING NEW MEANING TO "CORPORATE GIVING": NASCAR can't even raise money for charity without a sponsorship deal. "Nextel Sound and Speed Presented by SunTrust, a Motorsports and Music Celebration" is a two-day fundraiser scheduled for January to benefit Kyle Petty's camp for sick children and the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum. It will feature drivers, country music stars and the unveiling of car paint schemes for 2006.
BUT THE STUDIO REALLY WANTS A BALDWIN BROTHER: Fledgling actor Jose Canseco has an inside track on a potentially decent role for his abilities. His manager has bought the movie rights to his book, Juiced: Wild Times, Rampant 'Roids, Smash Hits, and How Baseball Got Big. Manager Bob DeBrino also is a producer whose credits include, according to IMDB.com, Find Me Guilty, directed by the great Sidney Lumet, and TV's Intimate Portrait: Alyssa Milano.
THE SMELL OF MONEY: Serena Williams, who once said she is too much of a one-woman pop culture force to focus on just tennis, is strengthening her force field by working on a perfume-cosmetics deal with the Estee Lauder company, her rep tells New York's Daily News. ... David Beckham's new fragrance for Coty now has a name, Instinct, and a smell: notes of Italian bergamot, orange, mandarin, star anise, cardamom, red pimento, Haitian vetiver, patchouli and white amber, perfumerflavorist.com reports. It debuts in Europe next month, and the Web site femalefirst.co.uk says first-year sales are expected to hit $41-million to $49.8-million for the world's best-paid soccer player.
