Extreme Makeover: Harris Edition

Former Florida Secretary of State Katherine Harris, who delighted fellow Republicans and enraged Democrats when she halted the recount in the 2000 presidential election, says she knows why late-night comics always made fun of her makeup.

"It was because the newspapers colorized my photograph," she said last week on a radio show hosted by Sean Hannity.

Harris, a Sarasota congresswoman who today announces her candidacy for the U.S. Senate, didn't say which newspapers altered her unique look. Most papers, including this one, have strict rules against doctoring photographs.

But that doesn't mean you can't experiment with Harris' look if you want to. Here's an outline for you to work with. If you don't have Maybelline, Crayolas will suffice.
