Pharmacy technician arrested on drug charges

By Times Staff Writer

HOLIDAY - A pharmacy technician accused of fraudulently filling hydrocodone prescriptions for about 600 pills was arrested Tuesday and charged with five counts of trafficking in illegal drugs, a felony offense, Pasco County deputies said.

Jacqueline Sue Ohmann, 27, of 5221 Marine Parkway in New Port Richey created five fraudulent refills for the narcotic between early May and mid July through the computer system at the Walgreens pharmacy where she worked, deputies said.

She made the refills in the names of friends and family members, deputies said.

Narcotics unit Detective Bill Davis said it isn't uncommon to discover medical personnel taking advantage of their knowledge of the field to obtain drugs illegally. "I think people don't understand the seriousness of committing the act," Davis said.

"These are narcotics, this is serious stuff."

Ohmann was released on $50,000 bail Wednesday.
