County hires new engineering director

INVERNESS - Citrus County government has hired a new engineering director to take over for Ken Cheek, who departed on Friday.

The new director is Albert McLaurin, 57, of Lecanto. McLaurin, who works at Hoyle, Tanner & Associates of Hernando, will make $78,500 and supervise about two dozen employees in the county's engineering division. He will start Aug. 22, said Sherry Anderson, the county's human resources coordinator.
