Kaan was vice president; Nelson was assistant vice president; and Cavaliere was assistant vice president business banker.

EDUCATION

Dr. Robert M. Nelson has been appointed chairman of the Department of Pediatrics at the University of South Florida College of Medicine, Tampa. Nelson was a professor of newborn medicine at the University of Nebraska Medical Center and Creighton University School of Medicine, Omaha, Neb.

ENGINEERING

Mike DePue has been named chairman of the cost savings and leverage subcommittee for the Association of State Floodplain Managers. DePue is a senior program manager at PBS&J, Tampa.

Jane Caldera and George McBee have been named principals at Avid Engineering, Palm Harbor. Caldera is director of traffic/transportation services and serves as the Palm Harbor office manager; and McBee is chief operations officer.

FINANCE

V. Michael Eitler III has been named a partner in the financial leadership practice at Tatum Partners, Tampa. Eitler will serve as chief financial officer and as a financial consultant. Eitler was executive vice president and chief financial officer at Aneco Electrical Construction Inc., Tampa.

HEALTH CARE

Mary E. Kohler has been named administrative director of medical surgical nursing, responsible for the neuroscience nursing and the palliative care programs at University Community Hospital, Tampa. Kohler was director of patient care services for surgical step-down and dialysis at Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point, Hudson.

LEGAL

Mark J. Wolfson has been named chairman of the Business Law Section of the Florida Bar Association. Wolfson is a partner and is leader of the business reorganization practice group for the Southeast region at the law firm of Foley & Lardner LLP, Tampa.

Carlton Fields, Tampa, announces that Sylvia H. Walbolt has received the 2005 James C. Adkins Award from the Appellate Practice Section of the Florida Bar; and Laurel Lockett has been elected chairwoman of the City of Tampa Historic Preservation Commission. Walbolt is chairwoman of the board of directors and of the appellate practice group; and Lockett is a shareholder and practices in the areas of environmental law and commercial real estate.

Pam Rotalo has been named finance administrator at LifePath Hospice and Palliative Care, Temple Terrace. Rotalo was state controller for U.S. Oncology, Clearwater.

Andy Lutton has been named executive director of the Mayor's Beautification Program in Tampa. Lutton was vice president of marketing and development for LifePath Hospice, Tampa.

Tim Pemberton has been named sports director at the YMCA of Greater St. Petersburg. Pemberton was the sports fitness and aquatics director at the YMCA of Montgomery, Ala.
