Florida National Guard 2nd Lt. Lawrence F. Fischer, son of Rosemarie Willis of Indian Rocks Beach, has begun military police training at Fort Dix, N.J., and is scheduled for deployment to Iraq in November. Fischer joined the National Guard in 1999 and was a distinguished honor graduate of his occupational training in air defense class. He graduated from Indian Rocks Christian School and attended St. Petersburg College and the University of South Florida.

Army Staff Sgt. Natalie Boyd Klima, daughter of Chuck and Darlene Boyd of Seminole and Jill and Mike Kearns of Port Richey, is touring the United States with the U.S. Army Field Band. She plays the piccolo. She is a 1992 graduate of Seminole High School and earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Florida and a master's degree from the University of North Texas.

Army Reserve Pfc. Timothy M. Ahearn, grandson of JoAnn Etheridge and brother of Angelique Ahearn, both of St. Petersburg, has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Sill, Okla.

Army Pvt. Rachel A. Sawyers, daughter of Marcy Foreman of St. Petersburg, has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C. She is a 2005 graduate of James Madison High School.

Marine Corps Pfc. Andrew R. Spaeth, son of Robert A. Spaeth of Madeira Beach and Debra A. Spaeth of Lecanto, has completed the Basic Supply Course at the Marine Corps Combat Service Support Schools Training Command, Camp Lejeune, N.C. He is a 2004 graduate of Lecanto High School.

Air Force Senior Airman Troy D. White, son of Arvela and Albert White of St. Petersburg, is an air traffic control specialist and was named 2004 Controller of the Year at the 71st Operating Support Squadron, Vance Air Force Base, Enid, Okla. He is currently deployed overseas in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.
