Reform Party to hold state meeting Saturday

TAMPA - The Reform Party of Florida will hold its state meeting at the Best Western Hotel, 1200 West Shore Blvd., from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday. The meeting is open to the public. Members must present their voter ID card and driver's license to be eligible to vote.

Columbia to donate part of all tabs in September
HISTORIC YBOR - Celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Columbia Restaurant and support local nonprofit organizations during the eighth annual Columbia Restaurant Community Harvest program. Throughout September, all seven restaurants in Florida, including at 2117 E Seventh Ave. in Ybor City, will donate 5 percent of all lunch or dinner checks to a charitable organization.
Guests can request the money be donated to one of several nonprofits, including the American Cancer Society, H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center, Make-A-Wish Foundation and Big Brothers Big Sisters.

Tag sale will benefit M.A.D. Theatre of Tampa
TAMPA - Visit M.A.D. Theatre of Tampa's tag sale from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at Celebration Free Methodist Church, 6101 N Armenia Ave. Enter to win free tickets to M.A.D. Theatre productions and browse toys, clothing, appliances, furniture and other items at garage sale prices.

Applications available for "Artzy Shopping' festival
BAYSHORE GARDENS - The Tampa Woman's Club, 2901 S Bayshore Blvd., seeks artists, crafters and vendors to participate in "Artzy Shopping on Bayshore" on Oct. 15. The event will feature art, crafts, food and clowns. The Florida Orchestra will provide musical instruments for children to play.

Craft, food show opens at Florida State Fairgrounds
TAMPA - Buckler's 12th annual Craft and Food Show runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday at the Florida State Fairgrounds Expo Hall. Exhibitors will feature cooking demonstrations, jewelry, furniture, food and folk art.
Cost is $4 for both days; children under 12 are admitted free. A portion of each admission goes toward charities such as Teen Challenge, Operation Blessing and Freedom Village USA. For information, call (386) 860-0092, ext. 10.
Fabric art exhibit to close with reception at gallery
HISTORIC YBOR - The HandMade in Florida craft gallery hosts a closing reception for its "Hot Nights, Cool Breezes" exhibit featuring painted, dyed and ornamented fabric art by Marlene Glickman.
Glickman of Clearwater uses cloth as a canvas to create three-dimensional works from silk, rayon and natural fibers. She will attend the reception from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the gallery, 1903 N 19th St.

University will devote Saturday to volunteering
DOWNTOWN - University of Tampa students and staff are gearing up for "Into the Streets," a volunteer event from 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday.
Incoming freshmen, student leaders, faculty and staff will volunteer at various agencies, including Metropolitan Ministries, Lowry Park Zoo, the Children's Museum of Tampa, Bakas Equestrian Center for handicapped riders and the Haven W. Poe Runaway Center. The program is designed to involve students in community service throughout their collegiate career.

HISTORIC YBOR - The Ybor City Fresh Market is looking for vendors of vintage collectibles to join its team of weekend sellers.
