COWBOYS 21, TEXANS 9: Safety Roy Williams unloaded several crushing blows and cornerback Terence Newman provided an interception in the end zone and plenty of tight coverage to help host Dallas in the annual game between the Lone Star State squads. Dallas used quarterback Drew Bledsoe and most of the first-team offense until midway through the third quarter, while Houston pulled quarterback David Carr and the offensive starters after halftime. Bledsoe was 11-of-18 for 113 yards with no turnovers.
BRONCOS 37, COLTS 24: Peyton Manning threw for 206 yards and two touchdowns over the first 21/2 quarters, but it wasn't enough to stop host Denver. Mike Anderson scored a 93-yard touchdown as part of his 159-yard, two-score night for Denver a year to the day since he was lost for the 2004 season with a groin injury in a preseason game against Houston.
SEAHAWKS 23, CHIEFS 17: Darrell Jackson needed only one game to remind everyone who set the Seattle record with 87 receptions last season. Getting his first extended time of the preseason, Jackson caught seven passes for 99 yards and one touchdown against host Kansas City.
