Country singer Mindy McCready was arrested Friday on a warrant she violated probation on a year-old drug charge.
McCready, 29, was booked into the Pinellas County jail 6:45 p.m. Friday. She was awaiting transport Saturday to Williamson County, Tenn., where the warrant was issued.
The probation violations stem from last year, when she pleaded guilty to fraudulently obtaining the painkiller OxyContin at a pharmacy in Williamson County. She was fined $4,000, sentenced to three years of supervised probation and ordered to perform 200 hours of community service.
On May 6, McCready violated her probation in Nashville when she was charged with driving under the influence. McCready then left Tennessee without getting permission from her probation officer and didn't report to the officer during July.
Authorities said this was McCready's second probation violation, which means she cannot post bail this time and likely will have to serve time in jail.
Last month, McCready was released from Sun Coast Hospital in Largo after officials said she attempted suicide with a drug overdose. The incident followed the May arrest of McCready's boyfriend, William McKnight, on an attempted murder charge after officials said he broke into her home and beat her.
The singer's 1996 debut produced the No. 1 hit Guys Do It All the Time.
