New Port Richey couple claims $35M lotto

Retired grocer and his wife take one-time payment of $20.7 million.

A retired New Port Richey grocery store manager and his wife have come forward to claim a $35-million Florida Lotto jackpot. Paul and Charlotte Combs, holders of the only winning ticket in the Aug. 24 drawing, opted for a lump-sum payout of $20,762,138.51, lottery officials announced today. Charlotte Combs said the couple will donate some of their winnings to the youth ministry run by their son-in-law and youngest daughter. Paul Combs said he plans to purchase an SUV for his wife, who he said has always wanted want one and can now afford the gas.

The winning numbers in the Aug. 24 drawing were: 6-7-13-29-44-53.
