Transit committee has several openings

The Pinellas Suncoast Transit Authority has several openings on its Transit Advisory Committee. This group meets once a month at its headquarters at 14840 49th St. in Clearwater.

The committee of transit users and interested citizens provide input to the PSTA board of directors and staff regarding transit service, fares and infrastructure improvements.

Such input is intended to increase ridership and improve service for passengers. To apply, call 533-4301.

Earhart fellowships available for women

The Zonta International Amelia Earhart Fellowships are offered annually to women for graduate study in aerospace-related science and aerospace-related engineering.

Miracle on Wheels offers wheelchairs

Miracle on Wheels makes available electric power wheelchairs to nonambulatory people 65 years or older and the permanently disabled of any age if they qualify.

Those who qualify must be able to operate a joystick controller on the armrest and understand the basic instructions. Call toll-free at 1-800-749-8778.

Bayside Choir slates auditions

Bayside Choir, a community nonprofit arts organization, is holding auditions at the Piano Company, 1710 N Hercules, Suite 112, Clearwater.

The goal is to further music education through the practice of classical choral traditions. They have three levels of choirs for grades 1-12. Call 447-9683 to schedule an audition time.
