CITRUS SPRINGS - The Florida Governmental Utility Authority has proposed an interim water line extension fee of $2,068 for Citrus Springs residents. The proposed interim fee will be considered by the county's Water and Wastewater Authority at a meeting Sept. 13.
In a letter to director of utilities regulation Bob Knight last week, FGUA director of operations Charles Sweat said the interim fee would apply to line extension requests in Citrus Springs made after Sept. 13 and would remain in effect until the Water and Wastewater Authority approves a permanent line extension fee at hearings scheduled in November.
The utility has proposed a line extension fee of $2,082 for Citrus Springs residents who requested service after June 24 to pay for the construction of 36.5 miles of water distribution pipes.
They have also proposed annual line maintenance fees for residents in Pine Ridge and Citrus Springs.
Those fees will be reviewed by the county Water and Wastewater Authority in meetings scheduled for Nov. 9, 10 and 14.
