TAMPA - The St. Pete Times Forum has teamed up with the Tampa Bay Lightning and Tampa Bay Storm to serve as a donation center for Hurricane Katrina victims.

A caravan of donated goods will depart Sept. 10 from the Times Forum for New Orleans and other Gulf Coast areas.

Donations will be accepted around the clock on the Times Forum's Chrysler-Jeep Plaza or McDonald's Box Office.

Items can include money, bottled water, nonperishable food, convenience food, can openers, baby food, diapers, wipes, hygiene items, picnic supplies, small charcoal grills and charcoal, tools, gloves, tarps, plastic, construction material, over-the-counter medicine, first-aid kits, flashlights, batteries, candles, trash bags, generators, chain saws and hand tools.
