Pac 10: Cal rolls despite QB struggles

BERKELEY, Calif. - Marshawn Lynch rushed for 147 yards and a score, and 19th-ranked California beat Sacramento State 41-3 Saturday despite a tumultuous afternoon for three quarterbacks.

Longshore, a redshirt freshman who beat out junior college transfer Joe Ayoob for the starting job, was 8-for-11 for 131 yards with an interception. But Cal led just 7-3 when he sprained his ankle and went to the locker room on a cart.

Ayoob took over, but looked terrible while throwing 10 straight incompletions - most sailing over the heads of his receivers.

Third-stringer Steve Levy, a junior from Cornwall, N.Y., who wasn't expected to play much this season, then threw an interception on his first play from scrimmage. But Levy threw a 46-yard touchdown pass to Noah Smith moments later, then led another scoring drive culminating in Chris Manderino's 3-yard TD run.

HONOLULU - Matt Leinart threw for 332 yards and three touchdowns as the Trojans won their 23rd straight.

Dwayne Jarrett caught three touchdown passes as Leinart broke Carson Palmer's school record of 72 touchdown passes. Leinart has 74 and improved to 26-1 as a starter.

AIR FORCE 20, WASHINGTON 17: The Falcons' 13-point fourth quarter rally spoiled the debut of Tyrone Willingham as Huskies coach.

Quarterback Shaun Carney scored on a 1-yard run with 34 seconds left to lift Air Force, the home team despite playing in Seattle.

OREGON STATE 41, PORTLAND STATE 14: Matt Moore debuted with 367 yards passing and four touchdowns for the host Beavers.

Mike Hass had nine catches for 155 yards, while Alexis Serna kicked field goals of 19 and 24 yards. Oregon State rolled up 479 yards of offense against the Division I-AA Vikings.
