| This model shows how a tall building such as a condominium tower might move in high winds. Seeing this during the design stages gives builders a good idea of what they need to do to limit the movement. The architectural firm of Perkins+Will is designing Signature Place in downtown St. Petersburg. Mark Lutz, associate principal in the firm's Coral Gables office, said the greater movement on the east on this model shows where concrete walls will have to be inserted in the building to steady it.
