Warhawks dominant in tri-meet
By BOB PUTNAM
Published September 7, 2005
Ho-hum. Another typical, staid afternoon at Taylor Park.
The Seminole boys and girls showed once again they are the leaders of the pack in Pinellas County by dominating a tri-meet hosted by Largo.
As expected, the Warhawk boys made it look easy as they sent waves of runners to the front at the finish line. Seminole, ranked No. 2 in Class 3A by flrunners.com, had the first five place-winners, led by overall champion Tony Nicolosi (16 minutes, 53 seconds).
The biggest surprise was turned in by Nicolosi's sister, Heather, who won the girls race in 19:27, nearly a minute faster than the Times two-time cross country runner of the year Kerry Allen of St. Petersburg (20:23).
