SATURDAY

BOOMER BASH: Baby boomers will dance the night away to music from the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s. The second annual Brandon Baby Boomer Bash, organized by a group of citizens to benefit Florida Camp Rotary and the Outreach Clinic, starts with cocktails at 6:30 p.m., followed by a 7 p.m. dinner and dancing from 8 p.m. to midnight at the Winthrop Barn Theater, 11349 Bloomingdale Ave., Riverview. Cash bar available. Rhythm Makers DJs will supply the music, and expect the Brandon Blues Brothers to put in a cameo appearance. Cash bar available. Must be at least 21 years old to attend. STEEL MAGNOLIA >S: The Village Players Community Theatre offers a sneak preview of Steel Magnolias today at the James McCabe Theatre, 506 Fifth St., Valrico. The heartrending comedy explores the lives of five women who meet in a Louisiana beauty parlor. The preview includes a 7 p.m. dinner by the La Septima cafe for an 8 p.m. curtain. Tickets are $25. Other performances include only the play and start at 8 p.m. on Sept. 16, 17, 23 and 24, plus a 4 p.m. matinee Sept. 18. Call 685-1664, after 2:30 p.m.

YBOR FRESH MARKET: More than 150 arts and crafts vendors will show their wares Sept. 17 and 18 as the Ybor City Fresh Market supplies a venue for the artistic and the holistic. The market runs from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. in Ybor's Centennial Park at Eighth Avenue and 18th Street. Call 241-2442.
