Air Force again rallies to win

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Jacobe Kendrick helped Air Force and coach Fisher DeBerry stop a skid against San Diego State.
The fullback had a career-high 128 yards and four touchdowns Saturday to lead Air Force to a 41-29 victory and end a three-game losing streak to the Aztecs.
"I'm very pleased to get the monkey off our back," DeBerry said. "Our fullback played an outstanding game, and I thought we played with passion and emotion all day."
After falling behind 10-0 early, the Falcons responded with three consecutive second-quarter touchdowns. Quarterback Shaun Carney had 231 yards passing and accounted for two Air Force touchdowns.
The Falcons, who led the Mountain West in rushing last year, piled up 272 yards rushing and 503 yards of total offense.
The Aztecs turned a failed fake punt and a fumble by Air Force into an early 10-0 lead. But Air Force, which erased a 17-6 deficit against Washington a week ago, came back again.
CENT. MICHIGAN 38, MIAMI (OHIO) 37: Ontario Sneed's 60-yard touchdown run with 1:44 left helped the Chippewas end the RedHawks' 10-game home-winning streak. The teams combined for 1,093 yards as Miami dropped a Mid-American Conference opener for the first time since 1995. Quarterback Kent Smith accounted for four touchdowns and 478 yards of offense for Central Michigan, throwing for 356 yards and running for 122 yards on 16 carries. He completed 26 of 36 passes, including touchdown throws of 50 yards to Damien Linson and 12 yards to Obed Cetoute, and had TD runs of 1 and 23 yards.
WYOMING 38, LA.-MONROE 0: Wynel Seldon ran for two touchdowns and 121 yards to lead the host Cowboys. Wyoming shut down Indians' quarterback Steven Jyles, holding him to 13 completions and 106 yards. It was the first time Wyoming shut out an opponent since 1996, when they beat Hawaii 66-0.
BYU 45, E. ILLINOIS 10: John Beck threw for 255 yards and three scores as the Cougars gave coach Bronco Mendenhall his first win. BYU capitalized on mistakes by the Division I-AA Panthers and finished with 431 yards of offense. BYU had 176 rushing yards after running for just 8 the week before in a 20-3 loss to No. 19 Boston College.
KENT ST. 33, SE MISSOURI ST. 12: Michael Machen threw two touchdown passes and Bruce Rice returned a fumble eight yards for a touchdown for the host Golden Flashes.
E. MICHIGAN 31, LA.-LAFAYETTE 10: Matt Bohnet threw for 263 yards and two touchdowns and added 67 yards rushing and two scores for the host Eagles.
TOLEDO 56, W. MICHIGAN 23: Bruce Gradkowski threw three touchdown passes in the first half as the host Rockets raced to a 35-0 lead.

B-CC 31, ARK.-PINE BLUFF 17: Eric Weems ran for two touchdowns, including a second-quarter score that put the host Wildcats ahead to stay. Weems' 6-yard run with 3:14 left before halftime gave the Wildcats a 14-9 lead, and his 13-yard score after on an option from quarterback Jimmie Russell sealed the win with 14:03 remaining. Larry Summers had a 70-yard interception return and Richard Woodbury had an 18-yard run for B-CC'S other touchdowns.
