Current movies recommended by the Times:
1. Lord of War - International gunrunner (Nicolas Cage) becomes morally conflicted as he sells death to political hot spots around the world. A rare, smart action flick.
2. The 40-Year-Old Virgin - Perhaps now everyone will realize that Steve Carell (The Daily Show, The Office) is the funniest man working in show business today.
3. The Aristocrats - Brazenly obscene documentary featuring 100 comedians telling and analyzing the same dirty, dirty joke. Not at all for sensitive viewers.
4. The Constant Gardener - Ralph Fiennes shines in a refreshingly adult mystery crafted by director Fernando Meirelles, based on the novel by John LeCarre.
5. Junebug - A Chicago art dealer (Embeth Davidtz) visits her new husband's North Carolina family, and Southern isn't always hospitable. A movie of small moments and gradual payoffs.
