Sex offender moves too near a day care, is arrested

SPRING HILL - A sex offender was arrested Wednesday, accused of violating his probation by moving into a house within 1,000 feet of a home day care.

William R. Lee III moved to 15741 Lancer Road on Tuesday, according to a probation officer's report. The home is too close to a day care on Waxweed Avenue, the report says, and Lee did not have approval from probation officials to relocate there.

Lee, 47, was convicted in 2004 of lewd or lascivious exhibition involving a victim under 16 years old, according to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement's Web site. His last reported address was the Hernando County Jail, the site says.

His probation is to last until 2014, according to the Florida Department of Corrections Web site. He was held without bail Thursday in the Pasco County jail.
