Ladies and gentleman, Jeremy Writt has left the building. While last-place Cotey and Wright saved their hides by going 12-3, Writt stumbled to a second straight 8-7 week. That means his 16-14 record is rock bottom, and he is outta here. Everyone else is 0-0, and our next two-week elimination starts ... right ... now!

All games at 7:30 unless noted.

Largo (2-0) at Dixie Hollins (3-0), 620-AM

LAST MEETING: Dixie Hollins 16, Largo 7 (2004)

THE SKINNY: The Packers are 0-3 in their third game the past three years after starting 2-0. Got all that?

Cotey: Largo Putnam: Dixie Wright: Largo

Girandola: Largo Muskatevc: Largo

Palm Harbor U (1-2) at Countryside (3-0)

LAST MEETING: Countryside 34, PHU 8 (2002)

THE SKINNY: The Cougars are 4-0 against PHU, outscoring the Hurricanes 147-62.

Cotey: Countryside Putnam: Countryside

Wright: Countryside Girandola: Countryside

Muskatevc: Countryside

Boca Ciega (2-1) at Lakewood (0-3)

LAST MEETING: Boca Ciega 28, Lakewood 20 (2004)

THE SKINNY: The Pirates have squeaked out a pair of wins in the past two meetings, but the Spartans showed last week in a loss to Dixie Hollins they aren't pushovers.

Cotey: Bogie Putnam: Bogie Wright: Bogie

Girandola: Bogie Muskatevc: Bogie

Gibbs (1-1) at St. Petersburg (0-3)

LAST MEETING: Gibbs 47, St. Petersburg 14 (2004)

THE SKINNY: The Gladiators have had two weeks to stew over their poor showing against Countryside. The Green Devils can't be too happy about their start either. Who's madder?

Cotey: Gibbs Putnam: Gibbs Wright: Gibbs

Girandola: Gibbs Muskatevc: St. Petersburg

Clearwater (1-2) at East Lake (2-1)

LAST MEETING: East Lake 21, Clearwater 18 (2004)

THE SKINNY: These teams have finished first and second in the district the past three seasons, but someone will be starting in last place.

Cotey: East Lake Putnam: East Lake Wright: East Lake Girandola: East Lake Muskatevc: East Lake

Central (2-1) at Tarpon Springs (2-1)

THE SKINNY: Central had four backs gain over 50 yards last week, including two 100-yard rushers, but that was against a depleted Crystal River team.

Cotey: Tarpon Putnam: Tarpon Wright: Tarpon

Girandola: Tarpon Muskatevc: Tarpon

Pinellas Park (0-3) at Seminole (2-1)

LAST MEETING: Seminole 34, Pinellas Park 7 (2004)

THE SKINNY: These are the games Seminole has to win if it wants to sneak into the district race. Yes, it's early, but the loser here can kiss the postseason goodbye.

Cotey: Seminole Putnam: Seminole Wright: Seminole Girandola: Seminole Muskatevc: Seminole

Northeast (1-2) at Bradenton Southeast (2-1)

THE SKINNY: Southeast played last week without injured star defender Terron Sanders; the Vikings think another week of rest for Sanders would be best.

Cotey: Southeast Putnam: Southeast Wright: Southeast Girandola: Southeast Muskatevc: Southeast

Bradenton Bayshore (1-2) at Osceola (1-2)

THE SKINNY: Despite a 28-8 loss to East Lake, Osceola showed signs of life. It needs to show them before falling behind 21-0, though.

Cotey: Osceola Putnam: Bayshore Wright: Bayshore Girandola: Osceola Muskatevc: Osceola

CC Catholic (1-2) at Auburndale (2-1)

THE SKINNY: If Auburndale can bob and weave, use the ropes and stay out of the corner, it should be able to avoid the Marauders' best punches. As for the football ...

Cotey: CCC Putnam: CCC Wright: Auburndale

Girandola: Auburndale Muskatevc: CCC

Wauchula Hardee (3-0) at SP Catholic (2-1)

THE SKINNY: Hardee has a 35-game regular-season win streak, which would be a nice feather in SPC's cap.

Cotey: Hardee Putnam: Hardee Wright: SPC

Girandola: SPC Muskatevc: SPC

Admiral Farragut Academy (2-1) at Shorecrest (0-3)

LAST MEETING: Shorecrest 22, Farragut 20 (2004)

THE SKINNY: We had to go back to 1980 to find the last time Shorecrest started 0-4. That's a long time.

Cotey: AFA Putnam: AFA Wright: AFA

Girandola: AFA Muskatevc: AFA

Calvary Chr. (1-1) at Keswick Chr. (2-0)

THE SKINNY: Calvary Christian's players weren't happy we picked against them last week. Yikes. They might want to skip to Canterbury-All Saints' game.

Cotey: Keswick Putnam: Keswick Wright: Keswick Girandola: Keswick Muskatevc: Keswick

Canterbury (0-2) at Winter Haven All Saints' (1-2)

THE SKINNY: All Saints' only win came against a first-year school. That's not good news for the Crusaders.

Cotey: All Saints Putnam: All Saints Wright: Canterbury Girandola: All Saints Muskatevc: Canterbury

Fort Meade (2-1) at Northside Chr. (1-2)

LAST MEETING: Fort Meade 69, Northside 0 (2000)

THE SKINNY: The Miners have scored 55 or more in three of its past four wins over Northside. They'll get less this week ... we think.

Cotey: Fort Meade Putnam: Fort Meade Wright: Fort Meade Girandola: Fort Meade Muskatevc: Fort Meade

Jupiter Chr. (2-0) at Indian Rocks Chr. (1-2), Saturday 6 p.m.

THE SKINNY: If men are from Mars and women are from Venus, then good football players are from Jupiter Christian ... gawd, was that awful.

Cotey: IRC Putnam: IRC Wright: Jupiter

Girandola: Jupiter Muskatevc: Jupiter.
