  • For their own good

This certificate is awarded after the candidate completes a number of weeks of study and successfully passes the final exam. It authorizes the recipient to perform vessel safety inspections, and award the coveted safety decal to the owners of vessels meeting all Coast Guard requirements.

The Auxiliary is very active in assisting the Coast Guard with promoting homeland security, public instruction of safe boating, vessel safety exams, safety patrols on the rivers and coastal waters, search and rescue, law enforcement air patrols and other activities.

Flotilla 15-04 is always looking for dedicated persons with interest in the above endeavors. Anyone interested in joining Homosassa Flotilla 15-04, call Ned Barry at 249-1042, or e-mail nedbarry@tampabay.rr.com

NOTE OF THANKS

Editor:

The Salvation Army wishes to give special praise to Bob Noyes of Homosassa for his donation of his intricate intarsia ltalian wood carving to the Citrus County Craft Council for the Harvest Moon Craft Show held at the Armory on Sept. 3.

It was Mr. Noyes' and his wife, Evelyn, intent that the proceeds from his wood sculpture be donated to The Salvation Army with a specific request that it be designated for The Salvation Army Katrina Relief Fund. The Citrus County Craft Council proudly presented The Salvation Army with a check in the amount of $500, and we appreciate their efforts in orchestrating this kind deed.

Thank you Mr. Noyes, the Citrus County Craft Council and God Bless all of the amazing people committed to keeping America a land of promise and grace.

Louise Clark, Fund-Raiser, The Salvation Army Advisory Board
