ST. CLOUD - Two people were killed when a single-engine plane crashed in rural Osceola County, officials said.
Sheriff's officials did not release the names of the victims in Friday's crash. Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Twis Lizasuain said the plane crashed near Lake Gentry in southeastern Osceola. The plane took off from a private airstrip in the Lake Gentry Farms neighborhood.
The plane was burned so badly officials could not immediately determine its model or the tail number it carried.
The National Transportation Safety Board will conduct an investigation with cooperation from the Federal Aviation Administration.
