TAMPA - Services have been set for Northwest Elementary School principal Mark Dafeldecker, 49, who died Saturday of a stroke during a trip to his daughter's soccer match in Wisconsin.

Visitation has been set for 7-10 p.m. Saturday at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, 5225 Himes Ave. A funeral service will take place at 7 p.m. Monday, also at the church.

Arrangements are still being made to establish a scholarship in his name.

Dafeldecker, a well-known youth soccer coach and 22-year veteran educator known as "Mr. D," was married to Cannella Elementary principal Cheryl Dafeldecker. The couple has two children, including daughter Erin, a member of the University of South Florida women's soccer team.
