The Pinellas County School Board will meet at 5 p.m. Tuesday in the conference hall of the administration building, 301 Fourth St. SW, Largo. Citizens may speak about any item on the agenda not involving a hearing on employee discipline by registering before the item is introduced. Presentations from the audience regarding items not on the agenda may be made at the end of the meeting.

A new program titled What's Up, Doc?, featuring members of high school Student Rights and Responsibilities committees, airs at 6 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays and at noon Sundays through Oct. 2 on WPDS-Ch. 14. The show features students questioning Pinellas school superintendent Clayton Wilcox on topics including the dress code, standardized testing and the use of school buses for athletic events.

On Sept. 28, community and business leaders are invited to spend the day at a Pinellas County school as part of the Presidents as Principals program sponsored by the Gus A. Stavros Institute. A reception will be held at 2 p.m. at the institute, 12100 Starkey Road, Largo, where participants will have the chance to share their experiences and discuss opportunities for the future with superintendent Clayton Wilcox. The program is designed to strengthen the bond between the local community and Pinellas County schools.
