CRYSTAL RIVER - Two Crystal River residents were arrested late Tuesday afternoon and accused of making methamphetamine, according to a Citrus County Sheriff's Office report.

Roger L. Dingess, 47, and Maria Elaina Pearce, 50, both of 10760 N Autumn Oak Point, were arrested at 4:39 p.m. Dingess faces charges of possession of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of a listed chemical and possession of drug paraphernalia, according to the report.

Pearce faces charges of possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia, according to the report. Deputies say they went to the home after they received a tip that someone at the house was cooking meth. Dingess told the deputies he wasn't making meth and gave them permission to search the home, according to the report.

The deputies say they found 20 glass and metal pipes that contained drug residue inside a cabinet in the home, as well as 35 grams of marijuana. Deputies also found ingredients for making meth, including the chemical ephedrine, a butane torch, tin foil, a scale and several plastic baggies that contained meth residue, according to the report. Dingess and Pearce were taken to the Citrus County jail. Bail was set at $17,000 for Dingess and $5,500 for Pearce.
