Church seeks to incorporate school

The following applications are being reviewed by a Hillsborough County land use hearing officer:

UNIVERSITY AREA: A church wants to incorporate an existing Christian Montessori school into its building.

If the Church of the Resurrection gets approval, it will move what is now the Growing Upward Pre-K Montessori School, 14018 North Blvd., into the church's main building at 12720 N Florida Ave.

The current school has 18 students, and the church is expecting the number to increase to 26 after the move. The church has 12 rooms at its disposal. The plan would use six rooms as office space, three for Sunday school, and would knock down the walls between three rooms to create one large classroom space. They would take on three teachers. (Petition 05-2200)

WESTCHASE: Insan Inc. is itching to erect homes in Westchase.

It wants to develop 10 acres of vacant property at Memorial Highway and Countryway Boulevard. The planned development would consist of a community of 39 single-family homes, possibly gated, with its only access point on Old Memorial Highway. (Petition 05-2136)

TOWN 'N COUNTRY: GR Partners LLC wants a minor modification to its planned development at Hillsborough Avenue and George Road. They want to rezone the land so that they are able to use five of the 320 units allowed on the property for commercial uses. (Petition 05-2041)
