Woman twice accused of battery

HUDSON - A Pasco County sheriff's deputy got his tooth chipped Friday evening when a woman kicked him in the mouth, according to a sheriff's report.

Deputy William Orndorff, 22, was dispatched to the home of a woman who called 911 to complain of a traffic violation.

The woman, Donna Helton Steele, said a drug-smuggling Mafia hitman had run her off the road, and her car hit a tree and blew up, the deputy's report says.

Steele's husband told the deputy his wife was delusional, and she may have taken medications, in addition to being drunk, the report says.

Angry about being contradicted, Steele began punching her husband, the report says. So the deputy tried to get her in handcuffs.

Steele then started trying to kick the deputy in the groin, and he pushed her to the ground and tried to hold her there until his backup arrived, the deputy reported.

"While restraining Donna, her husband walked behind me, at which time, I turned (my) head and Donna kicked me in the mouth, chipping my teeth," the deputy reported.

Several deputies arrived to escort Steele to a patrol car, where she started banging her head against the cage and trying to kick out the window, the report says.

Steele, 48, of 7719 Hatteras Drive, was in the county jail on $3,250 bail, facing charges of domestic battery, battery on a law enforcement officer and resisting with violence.

She is listed on her arrest report as a nurse at Oak Hill Hospital.
