LECANTO - A man was charged with drug trafficking after he showed deputies where more than a kilogram of cocaine was being stored at a local business.

Steven Bishop Hall, 30, of 1409 Andrew St., Inverness, was arrested Friday after an investigation by sheriff's officials and members of the Florida Department of Law Enforcement. A search warrant was issued for an unnamed auto detailing business that Hall was associated with.

Hall was spotted at a convenience store at Homosassa Trail and State Road 44 Friday afternoon. He was questioned by the investigators, then agreed to take them to the business, the arrest report states.

Once there, he showed investigators where a kilogram of cocaine was stored and led them to another stash of 9 ounces of cocaine, along with some pills.

Hall remained at the Citrus County jail Sunday, charged with drug trafficking in excess of 400 grams. His bail was set at $50,000.

Man surrenders after deputy's dog bites him

DUNNELLON - One bite from Thor, a canine with the Citrus County Sheriff's Office, was enough to persuade a man to end his brief attempt to flee authorities.

Jason Aaron Jones, 23, of 7032 W Dunklin St., Dunnellon, was a passenger in a car that Dunnellon police pulled over Saturday, arrest reports said.

A Dunnellon officer found traces of crack cocaine on Jones' goatee and scattered on his lap, the report states. While being placed under arrest, Jones took off on foot. The officers lost sight of him in the vicinity of Derrick Lane, the report states.

Deputy Kevin Brunk and his dog, Thor, arrived to assist the search. The dog soon picked up a scent, the report states. Thor found Jones hiding under heavy brush. Jones did not come out, ignoring warnings, until Thor went in the brush and bit him.

Jones was taken to Citrus Memorial Hospital, where the bite wound was treated, before he was taken to the Citrus County jail, the arrest report states.

He was charged with possession of a controlled substance and resisting an officer. He remained in jail Sunday.
