Fishing guide Rob Robert McCue of New Port Richey caught a 4.4-pound Spanish mackerel and won $300 in the Big Mack Attack on Saturday at Billy's Stone Crab Restaurant in Tierra Verde. His catch was made 8 miles west of Anclote Key in 25 feet over grassy bottom with scattered rocks. He fished with scaled sardines rigged on single 1/0 hooks. McCue said he caught about 30, all more than 3 pounds. "Yesterday morning I went out there to look, and in an hour of fishing I had about six fish and one was over 6 pounds and another one that was right about 5 pounds," McCue said. "I said, "Okay, they're here."'

Brian Everheart of St. Petersburg placed second with 2.4 pounds, and Randy Miller of Tierra Verde was third with 1.9.

In the Redfish Tour Open Division at Fisherman's Village in Punta Gorda, the Naples-based team of Matt McLean, Wayne Meland and Gary Parson won $1,000 with a catch of 13.56 pounds. Their total included a 6.38-pound redfish and a 7.18 that won the $100 big-fish prize. Scott Hughes and Dave Hoke were second with 11.10 pounds (5.70, 5.40), followed by Bret Bettler and Nick Georgeopoulos with 10.99 (6.43, 4.56). Dale Miller won the women's division with a 3.61-pounder, and Sara Forrest won the junior division with a 3.66.
