BEACH RACING

Strangemans Beach Biathlon, at Palm Pavilion, in Clearwater Beach, Oct. 1. Race distances- run 2 miles, swim .25 mile, run 2 miles, and swim .25 miles. 5-k Beach Run is open to all non-swimmers. CycleFest Weekend, in Lake Worth, bicycle racing weekend Oct. 1-2. USA Cycling criteriums begin on Oct. 1 at 12:00 noon, and Sunday Road Race on Oct. 2 at 8:00 am, in western Palm Beach County. For details: www.cyclefest.org

Florida Bicycle Sports First Thursdays 10 Mile Time Trial Series. This time trial is at Fort DeSoto Park, at 6:30 pm, and it is the final event of the 2005 season. Awards for top three in all categories including tandem bicycles. All cyclists are welcome. Helmets are required. USA Cycling rules will apply. One-day USA Cycling licenses will be available.
