NEW PORT RICHEY - A man with a penchant for sports jerseys, bottled water and robbery has been sentenced to 12 years and 10 months in prison for a crime spree last summer.

Michael Goad, 32, pleaded no contest Sept. 26 to multiple charges of robbery, possession of cocaine and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was arrested in June after robbing four drugstores and a bank, mostly along U.S. 19. In several cases, he selected a bottle of water, brought it to the cashier, pulled out a gun and then reached into the register for cash. He often wore sports jerseys. Goad said he committed the crimes to support a crack cocaine habit.
