WHERE: Pine Oaks Golf Club, Ocala.

THE SKINNY: Lecanto placed second at the conference tournament and seeks its sixth consecutive region berth. Carly Lewis was second, and teammate Kari Amundson also earned all-conference honors. THE SKINNY: Lecanto is looking for its fourth consecutive region berth, but the county runnerup faces a tough field. Ocala Forest fired 294 in last week's Marion County tournament followed by Belleview's 326. Central, which has made two straight region appearances, shot a winning 328 in the Hernando County tournament two weeks ago but lost to Belleview in a dual, snapping its six-match winning streak to start the season. The Bears get home-course advantage for district competition. Springstead's Gabriel Martinez and Central's Alex Coogan are the area's top individuals.

UP NEXT: Region 2 tournament, Oct. 18, Timacuan Golf and Country Club, Lake Mary.

GIRLS

TEAMS: Bishop McLaughlin, Citrus, Crystal River, Hernando, Nature Coast, Pasco, Saddlebrook Prep, South Sumter, Zephyrhills.

WHEN: 10 a.m. Monday.

THE SKINNY: Citrus hopes its dream season continues but will have to do battle with Saddlebrook Prep, which was second in the state last year. The Hurricanes (21-0) won the county championship Thursday. They were paced by freshman Briana Carlson, who carded a 76. Citrus had five of the top six finishers. Crystal River junior Andrea Adams looks to make it to the region tournament for the third consecutive season. Nature Coast, the Hernando County champ, looks to make a push for the region tournament behind Aspen Dukes.

Nature Coast is paced by Mike King, the third-place finisher at the county tournament. Hernando Christian (11-2) has seen Phil Reagan, Phil Murray and Dayne Dukes improve, and Hernando has come on late in the season.
