Baylor finally got to celebrate in a Big 12 stadium other than its own. Ryan Havens made three field goals as Baylor won its first Big 12 road game 23-13 over Iowa State.
"It's another gorilla off our back," Baylor coach Guy Morriss said. "It seems like this might legitimize us as a football team and program. I don't think we'll be able to sneak up on anybody anymore."
The Bears (4-1, 1-1 Big 12) had been 0-37 on the road in the Big 12 and lost 38 consecutive road conference games overall. Their last league road win had been Nov.11, 1995, 48-7 over SMU in the old Southwest Conference.
Havens, who earlier made a 49- and 21-yard field goal, put Baylor up 16-13 with a 36-yarder 2:41 into the fourth. After the Cyclones' second second-half fumble, Baylor went 81 yards in 12 plays, capped by Paul Mosley's 1-yard touchdown run that made it 23-13 with 1:36 left.
"I can't even express in words how disappointed we are in this loss," said defensive end Jason Berryman, whose Cyclones fell to 3-2 and 0-2 in the Big 12. "We didn't play Cyclone football like we know how."

ACC (2): Florida State, Virginia Tech.
BIG TEN (1): Penn State.
BIG 12 (2): Texas, Texas Tech.
PAC-10 (2): Southern Cal, UCLA.
