Shari Shamehdi has been named manager of employee communications and community relations at Certegy Inc., St. Petersburg. Shamehdi is working on a master's degree in public relations and mass communications at the University of South Florida.

Mary Gardner has been named a senior project manager at GLE Associates Inc., Tampa. Gardner was a project manager at Environmental Compliance Services, Tampa.

Stella Ferguson Thayer has been elected to the board of directors at Post Properties Inc., Atlanta. Thayer is a shareholder and practices in the areas of business and corporate tax planning, wills, trusts and estate planning at the law firm of Macfarlane Ferguson & McMullen, Tampa, and is president and director of Tampa Bay Downs Inc.

The Suncoast Chapter of the Florida Enrolled Agent's Society announces its new officers: Karen Reinagel, president; John Bryan, vice president; Lucy Raulerson, treasurer; Richard Clifton, secretary; and Jerry Joyce, immediate past president. Horizon Bay Senior Communities, Tampa, announces these appointments: Doug Garner, vice president of food and beverage; and Bud Hoener, director of procurement.
