City to try new meeting schedule

By Times Staff Writer
Published October 12, 2005

TREASURE ISLAND - In an effort to streamline city business, commissioners plan to try a new meeting schedule for three months, beginning Nov. 1.

Regular and workshop meetings will be scheduled the first and third Tuesdays of the month.

The evenings will begin with formal commission meetings at 6 p.m. when officials plan to take action on items discussed at workshops earlier in the month. At 7 p.m, immediately after the meetings, commissioners plan to hold workshops about ongoing and new issues.

Opportunities for public comment are expected to appear at the beginning of the meeting agendas and at the end of the workshop agendas.

In addition, commissioners may use a consent agenda for some of the routine items on the meeting agendas.

Currently, commissioners meet four Tuesdays each month, holding workshops and meetings on alternate weeks.
