October fests

By Times Staff Writer
Published October 13, 2005

October is a lovely time to celebrate music, food and the outdoors. And there are plenty of chances to do that this weekend in addition to the Clearwater Jazz Holiday. If your taste runs to beer, brats and oompah bands, check out the Oktoberfests in Dunedin Friday through Sunday and in Indian Rocks Beach on Saturday.

Take a horseback ride or a hayride before eating and singing 'round the campfire at the Moonlight Festival at Starkey Cattle Ranch in Odessa on Saturday.

Want to add some slithery creatures to the fun? Then head to the San Antonio Rattlesnake Festival on Saturday and Sunday in Pasco County.

Or continue the celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month with the Puerto Rico Patron Saints Festival on Sunday in Pinellas Park.
