The Latest Development

By MICHAEL CANNING
Published October 14, 2005

LOCATION: 1924 N A St., on the corner of Albany Avenue

DEVELOPER: Mize and Sefair Development

DESCRIPTION: Four three-story buildings containing 16 townhomes. Units will range from 1,823 to 2,100 square feet and have three bedrooms and 31/2 bathrooms. Architectural style will be Mediterranean revival.

PRICE: Starting in the $340,000s

ARCHITECT: Chris Miller of Metro Architectural Design in Clearwater

AMENITIES: Hardwood floors, high ceilings, crown molding, granite kitchen counter tops, two-car garage in each unit.

WHAT THEY'RE SAYING: "We welcome them to the community," said Wesley Weissenburger, executive secretary of the North Hyde Park Civic Association, "but it's the beginning of the end." The project marks the start of many new townhouse developments that will change the predominantly single-family neighborhood, he said. "The elderly that live here, the single-family people that live here will not be able to compete as the property assessments go sky high."

TIMELINE: Dan Sefair of Mize and Sefair said demolition of an old house on the site should begin within two months. Construction will take another 10 to 12 months.

MOVE-IN DATE: December 2006 or January 2007

FOR INFORMATION: Call Mize and Sefair at 241-4664 or go to www.mspcityhomes.com
