CRAFT SHOW: An indoor fall craft show will be from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. today and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Crystal Beach Town Hall. Items offered for sale will include holiday decorations, home and garden decor, jewelry and purses. Free admission. Call Karin at 784-5339.

TEEN DANCE: The Palm Harbor Community Activity Center is having a teen dance from 7:30 to 10 p.m. today for children ages 11-16. Admission is $3 and refreshments will be available. Call 771-6000.

BLUEGRASS MUSIC: David Peterson and 1946 play bluegrass at 8 p.m. today at the Tarpon Springs Performing Arts Center, 324 E Pine St. The group has appeared on NPR's All Things Considered, were a part of Brooks & Dunn's 2003 Neon Circus and Wild West Tour and were nominated for IBMA's Emerging Artist of the Year in 2002 and 2003. Admission is $18; center member or student, $16.

PARADISE ON THE BAYOU: Tarpon Springs Fire Rescue is sponsoring its third annual fundraiser for the Florida Children's Burn Camp. The tropical-themed party, "Paradise on the Bayou," is from 6 to 11 p.m. Saturday at Heritage Center on Spring Bayou. Tickets are $25 and include dinner, dancing, a cash bar, door prizes and live music. Proceeds benefit the burn camp and public safety programs in Tarpon Springs. JAZZ BAND CONCERT: Sonny LaRosa and America's Youngest Jazz Band will perform in concert at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at Royalty Theatre, 405 Cleveland St., Clearwater. Tickets are $10 and proceeds will help with the band's expenses to perform Oct. 20-22 at the Texas Jazz Festival in Corpus Christi, Texas. The 20-member band features young musicians from ages 6 to 13. For information, call 725-1788.

SAILING REGATTA: The 2005 Dunedin Cup and Kiwanis Regatta is all day Saturday. Events include seven races for different types of boats ranging from prams and kayaks to ocean racing boats more than 27 feet. Race courses will be in the Gulf of Mexico and St. Joseph Sound with spectator locations marked with sailboat signs representing the type of races. Dunedin Causeway and Honeymoon Island State Park are best for viewing kayak and catamaran races. Edgewater Marina Park is best for viewing Sunfish and pram races, the monohull races and the Tampa Bay Dragon Boats match. The 42-foot Dragon boats will be launched from the marina at 2 p.m. and the match race at 3 p.m. The boats are raced internationally and are powered by 20 paddlers and a drummer at the bow to lead them. Refreshments will be available at Marina Park starting at noon and there will be entertainment throughout the day, ending with an awards ceremony at 6:30 p.m. All the events are free.

PAINTING EVENT: The Dunedin Fine Art Center will host its fifth plein air open air painting event from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday. Participating artists will gather at the Treehouse Garden Collection and Paper Players stationery and paper store at 434 Virginia Lane. Blank canvas or paper will be stamped at the check-in as an official entry. This will become the drawing, painting, pastel or watercolor turned in at day's end for judging. Register in advance or the day of the event. Registration fees are $15 for DFAC members, $25 for nonmembers, $15 for students with valid ID. An awards ceremony follows. COMEDY IMPROV: Comedy improv troupe Wild Rice will perform at 8 p.m. Saturday at Tarpon Springs Cultural Center, 101 S Pinellas Ave. Admission is $13; center member or student, $11.

WINTER DANCE PARTY: A concert re-creation of the Winter Dance Party that marked the final tour of Buddy Holly, Richie Valens and the Big Bopper will be at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at the James B. White Theater at Clearwater Central Catholic School, 2750 Haines Bayshore Road. The show features John Mueller, who starred in the musical Buddy . . . The Buddy Holly Story. Ray Anthony plays Valens and Jay P. Richardson Jr., the son of the Big Bopper, will sing his father's songs. Tickets are $24.50.

KINGFISH TOURNAMENT: Molly Goodhead's, 400 Orange Ave., Ozona, will sponsor its 12th annual kingfish tournament Saturday. Cash prizes will be awarded. Call (727) 786-6255.

MEET COOKBOOK AUTHOR: Author Barbara Johnson will sign her recently published cookbook, Blessings and Bountiful from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday at Tampa Christian Supply, 1414 S Missouri Ave., Clearwater. The Christian-themed cookbook includes family recipes gluten-free recipes and Crockpot recipes. Light refreshments will be served.

BAND CONCERT: The Clearwater Community Concert Band will perform at 3 p.m. Saturday at St. Petersburg College, Clearwater campus. Informalities begin at 1:45, the jazz band at 2:15.

EXOTIC BIRD FAIR: The Suncoast Avian Society will have an exotic bird fair Sunday from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at Minnreg Building, 6340 126th Ave., Largo. Cost is $3 for adults; free to children 12 and younger. Call Mari Howard at 726-6864.

BOOK SIGNING: Children's book author Barbara Birenbaum will sign copies of her book Groundhog Phil's Message from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Borders bookstore in Clearwater Mall. EVENING WITH MYSTERY WRITER: Author Tim Dorsey will talk about his seventh mystery novel, Torpedo Juice, starting at 7 p.m. Tuesday in Room B of the John & Rosalie Jenkins wing at the Largo Public Library. Dorsey was a reporter and editor at the Tampa Tribune from 1987 to 1999. His previous novels include Florida Roadkill, Hammerhead Ranch Motel and Triggerfish Twist. The program is sponsored by Friends of the Largo Library.

SUNSET BAZAAR: Palm Harbor's Sunset Bazaar is open from 4 to 9 p.m. every Thursday until April 2006 at Palm Harbor Hall, Main Street Center complex, 1190 Georgia Ave. at 11th Street. The bazaar features local artisans, crafters, music and entertainment, a children's play area, native plants, herbs and flowers, home and garden decor, gourmet food, jewelry, toys and clothing. PARTY AND WINE TASTING: The third annual "Grape Escape: A Secret Garden Party and Wine Tasting" is planned for 6:30 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Earthscapes Garden Room, 816 Alt. U.S. 19, Palm Harbor. Guests will walk in a garden of ponds, fountains and statuary while sampling wines and beer from around the world, hors d'oeuvres from Palm Harbor restaurants and dancing to the Alan Darcy Trio.
