In Wis. crash, a suspended license found

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. - A 22-year-old semitrailer truck driver had a suspended license when his rig jackknifed Sunday in Wisconsin and was struck by a bus carrying the Chippewa Falls High School marching band, killing five people and injuring 29, authorities said Monday.

Michael J. Kozlowski's driver's license was suspended Sept. 21 for failing to pay a speeding ticket issued in Indiana, according to the Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles.

Wife of TV legal analyst apparently killed

LAFAYETTE, Calif. - Investigators scoured the San Francisco Bay area home of defense attorney and TV legal analyst Daniel Horowitz for clues Sunday after Horowitz's wife was found dead in the entryway of the couple's home in Lafayette, authorities said.

Contra Costa County authorities confirmed the identity of 52-year-old Pamela Vitale on Sunday morning and were investigating her Saturday death as a homicide, said Sheriff's Department spokesman Jimmy Lee. An autopsy was planned for Monday.

Horowitz practices criminal defense in state and federal courts and worked as a freelance legal analyst in the Scott Peterson trial. He has appeared frequently on CNN, MSNBC and Fox News.

FDA warns doctors not to use acid reflux treatment

WASHINGTON - The government is warning doctors to stop using Enteryx, an injection used to treat acid reflux disease, saying it has been connected to serious health problems and, in at least one case, a death.

Many of the problems with Enteryx have occurred when it is injected imprecisely, the Food and Drug Administration said.
