USF's Bill Gramatica signs deal with Storm

The Storm signed former USF kicker Bill Gramatica and quarterback Paul Troth. Gramatica, younger brother of former Bucs kicker Martin Gramatica, holds most of USF's kicking records, including longest field goal (63 yards). He is best remembered for injuring his knee while landing awkwardly after jumping to celebrate a field goal against the Giants while playing for the Arizona Cardinals in 2001. He kicked in one game for the Dolphins in '04.

Troth, one of the nation's most sought-after quarterbacks out of Charlotte (N.C.) Zebulon B. Vance High School, played three seasons at East Carolina before transferring to I-AA Liberty, where he completed 57 of 118 passes for 694 yards and one touchdown in six games in '04.

Also, Storm quarterback Shane Stafford will be the keynote speaker for Make a Difference Day on Saturday at the University Area Community Center Development Center, 14013 No. 22nd St. in Tampa. Millions of Americans across the country will spend the day doing volunteer projects to improve their communities and help neighbors in need. Stafford will speak to 500 area children and adults at an appreciation dinner from 5:30 to 8:15 p.m.
